matthew798
Hello fellas! I have an old computer (client wanted me to format so they could give it to a local computer recycling store) and i want to know if i would be able to run a PHP based website off of it with say, 100 hits a day. It would just be simple PHP foruyms with some add-ons. Now im not asking about how to set it up, i want to know if the old dinosaur can handle it. Iy has about 128mb ram, a 300MhZ proc and an 80gb harddrive... I know, i know... P.S. Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. cooldude832
Find the unix distro that you can use that is the most stripped I should say (I like ubunutu or ubunutu server but its probably overpowering) You are only loading LAMP+ftp via terminal commands so you don't need anything fancy because once u set up phpmyadmin and ftp you never have to go into the box physically agian Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/122119-solved-easy-php-on-an-old-computer/#findComment-630503 Share on other sites
