johnwayne77
i have a script which retrieves a licence key from a list and mails it when it is accessed. as a security measure i need to restrict access to it by ip (only by server) do you have any ideas which is the best solution for it? p.s. keys are stored in a .txt file which will be put before public_html directory. thanks! DamienRoche
Yes, it's quite simple if all you want to do is restrict by ip. $ip=@$REMOTE_ADDR; Then you simply put this into an if statement. if($ip == "YOUR IP ADDRESS") { ///// core of script goes here } else {echo "you are not permitted to view this page"; } Hope that helps. wildteen88
$REMOTE_ADDR should be $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/124120-restrict-access-to-file-by-ip/#findComment-641149 Share on other sites
