Hey,

I would like to know more about working with other developers. I have been working on a website as the only developer for 6 months now and that has led to short cuts and poor organization.  Now my client wants tons more work in a very quick amount of time, so I suggested hiring other developers. My question is what do other developers expect? What kind of projects would you guys take on? Would you take on someones sloppy code? Would most developers not even take on this project? Ive been in the dark here, I dont know any developers...

Maybe there are certain assets that other people could build? My user database has a unique key just like every other user database, wouldn't that be enough to build, say, a messaging feature?

how does it work? how do you guys work with projects that have been handed over to you?

Thank you!!!

Most important thing would be to agree on some standards regarding coding style, libraries/extensions used, commenting the code, documentation etc.

If your code is really 'sloppy' then most likely some time will be needed to bring it to accordance with these standards, so that the whole code base is uniform.
