Hello

I have problme in arabic characters. Inorder to make it easy, I made all tests i can think about them.

let me first explain the problem:

I need to insert arabic text to my DB. I created the table and chose the Collation as: cp1256_bin

Now i made two insertions:

First one, I used phpmyadmin page, i inserted arabic text, the nice thing that the arabic text still looks good and readable after insertion. BUT the problem is that it looks questions marks in the php view pages:e.g.: ???? ?????

Note that the the php <head> tages contain the correct arabic charset which is:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1256">

<meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="ar-lb">

The other very bad problem in this insertion method is that the export files of this table also conatins ??? ???? instead of arabic characters.

Second Insertion, I made an html form, and php insertion code. The arabic text is NOT readable in the phpmyadmin page it looks like this: $#1234 ; etc...

WHILE it looks readable and great in the php views page (pages that people visit and read)

The bad problme here is when exporting the table to save a copy for backup, the arabic characters look like this too: $#1234 ; (alot of these)

Finally, what I need is to keep the arabic text readable in my PHp pages that people browse AND get a good backup of the tables.I do NOT care if the arabic text is readable in the phpmyadmin page.

Please HELP

Thanks alot in advance
