I have a table which contains a DATE, a name, and an id field. I want to display the results of a query in a table but using date_format function to display the date not the way stored in Mysql. the code:

$query = "SELECT test1_id,  DATE_FORMAT(test1_date, ’%d/%m/%Y’) as date_new, test1_name from test1"
$result = mysql_query($query);

the above query doesnt return any error

And now when  i pass the result to an object with

$row = mysql_fetch_object($result) ;

i get the following error : Warning: mysql_fetch_object(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource

When i remove the date_format and execute the query getting the date field unformated everything is ok

What am i doing wrong ?

You need single-quotes around the ’%d/%m/%Y’ format string. You have some sort of smart-quote there now. And the query failed with a syntax error. What code do you have to check for errors in the value returned from the mysql_query() statement?
