two questions about webspell scripts

I have a webspell site and i would like to ask you 2 things because it seems their forum died and nobody answer me there:

 

First

 

I would like to make a button of the index.php like this:

 

if user logged in, he may go to the link, if he's not logged in appears a message like: you need to be registered or logged in to see this page.

 

The code of the buttons in index.php is like this:

The forum has an option that says the birthday of each member, but the calculation of the birthday dates are wrong.
