I know the discussion about SEO friend URLs has been brought up multiple times, but I have a more precise question; I read the following phrase:

 

Do not use too general parameters like ID; it will be ignored by Google as it thinks it's a session ID.

 

I am using id as a parameter on my website; do you guys think I should change it into something else, or is this just something someone made up?

i normally try to avoid using ids  for this reason i use Name and have actual text up there

 

seems to help out a bit for me plus for people who try to remember links a name is better then a random number to remember if the content matches the name
