pspfreak101
Well I'm looking to get a book for php and wondered what you guys would recommend. My coding background I have experince with C# xna game programing some basic css, and xhtml. I would like a book that discusses php and sql because I will be needed it to build sites that have user accounts, and profile functions and others Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/128647-best-book-you-recomend/ Share on other sites
xtopolis
I started out with this book, good for getting your feet wet about PHP and MySQL together... (though I had a much earlier version, I noticed I didn't get a lot of PHP commands that I should have known with it) Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP and MySQL http://www.sitepoint.com/books/phpmysql1/ Later I bought these, showing PHP classes , but in old syntax.. (new syntax is easy to pickup, few changes, and if you already know C# OOP, you should be good) The PHP Anthology, Vol 1 & 2 http://www.sitepoint.com/books/phpant1/ Just my 2 cents. I learned the most from coming to this forum and trying to solve problems I didn't know either. That, and php.net is your friend. Also, there are many online tutorials as well.
