How to configure apache to run perl in /var/www/html directory?

I've installed Awstats correctly in the /var/www/html/awstats-6.8/wwwroot/ directory and it can be run by lighttpd, however I'm testing it on apache and it doesn't run. Instead it just shows the source code in the browser.

I set this alias for awstats:

Alias /awstats /var/www/html/awstats-6.8/wwwroot/

and this to allow CGI scripts in the awstats path:

<Directory "/var/www/html/awstats-6.8/wwwroot/cgi-bin">
    AllowOverride None
    Options +ExecCGI
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
</Directory>

I wonder what else I need to do to run cgi in the awstats installation path.

thanks
