cannot run 'rpm --import'

I would like to add Jason's yum repository at here http://www.jasonlitka.com/yum-repository/ so that I can upgrade PHP to 5.2.6. However, when I try to import the GPG key,

my Putty just hangs there - no response at all.

I wonder what could be wrong with my VPS? I have CentOS 5 on it.

the output of 'yum repolist' is:

repo id              repo name                                 status
addons               CentOS-5 - Addons                         enabled
base                 CentOS-5 - Base                           enabled
extras               CentOS-5 - Extras                         enabled
updates              CentOS-5 - Updates                        enabled
utterramblings       Jason's Utter Ramblings Repo              enabled

Looks like I've imported Jason's repository, but I cannot run 'yum update httpd', the error is:

Loading "fastestmirror" plugin

* utterramblings: www.jasonlitka.com

Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=5&arch=i386&repo=os error was
