xenooreo
For a site I'm working on, for some reason if 'www' is in the address, it will get a bit messed up.So I wanted to use .htaccess to simply remove www from the address and just use http://Now... how would I do this? apacheguy
Does your server give a response if you enter in www.yourdomain.com? If not, then adding a rewrite rule or re-configuring your server is not going to help. My site doesn't work at all if you use www. It has to do with the DNS config I think. So you would have to look at your DNS server. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/12989-quick-htaccess-pointer/#findComment-50924 Share on other sites
xenooreo
www works fine, but one of the scripts just won't function properly if www is used. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/12989-quick-htaccess-pointer/#findComment-51007 Share on other sites
apacheguy
Are the urls in the script configured for www? I would recommend not putting in the entire url in your script code (ex instead of "<a href="www.this.com/kool">" put "<a href="/kool">"). Otherwise sometimes you will be on www.this.com and then go to the script, click on a link and end up on http://this.com and then the links may not work.
