which editor/IDE, font

Hi all,

I recently switched to Linux - a couple months.

I want to know - do you develop on Linux, or just deploy/test on Linux?

 

I've been developing in Eclipse PDT but i find one small issue - fonts.

Which is the popular / preferred font? I've tried a lot of them, but it just doesn't seem right. Courier New 9 was great in Windows, but even Courier does not render the same in Linux - is there some tweak?

 

I use KDE but Eclipse AFAIK uses GNOME fonts. Am i right?

I've tried the standard options - sharpened edges - most aliasing etc, but nothing satisfactory.

While this is hardly a big issue, it's a bit irritating ??? - has anyone felt the same or is it just me ?

Any help is much appreciated.
