PHP Script help

Hi

Can anyone help?

Very new to php so please be descriptive in your help - Appreciated in Advance!! :)

I want a script - eg verify.php
i know how to script to get the info verified from a server db but i want it to then output a file to the remote pc calling the script
in that file it says allowed or denied
but i want it to send the file not output it directly in the browser i also want this output file to have the same name as the script

so i call localhost/verify.php?user=paul it then runs a script and i get a file download notice on my pc and when i open it it will say allowed or denied

Is this possible? How easy will it be!
