I have a navigation made up with <ul><li><a href=""></a></li></ul> and styled in css to create rollovers using background images The problem is, im writing some JS to create drop downs using a <div> placed inside the <li>. But the links are inheriting the <li> link styles even though iv created a seperate class for the <div> Any ideas on how i can stop the inheritance ? laPistola Posted December 14, 2008 Share Posted December 14, 2008 without seeing your code i can only advice that you read up on Specifici (spelling might be wrong) basicly the more selectors a rule has the more points it gets so li { } has less points then li div { } so li div { } having the more Specifici points will over rule any rules its inherting from its parent Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
