azonicds2
Hi all, Ive had some good answers here in the past so thought id stop by again. I'm wondering if its possible to set up an announcements page on a website that can receive emails. To the effect that the subject of the email becomes the Announcement title and the text of the email becomes the body of the announcement? Not sure how to go about this or whether its even feasible, but any help or ideas are greatly appretiated. Thanks alot in advance Danny Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/139827-is-this-possible-in-any-way-email-announcement-page/ Share on other sites
l_kris06
you mean, a website should receive an email, and convert that to a post?? question: Who will the mail be addressed? i guess you can set up bots that can monitor a certain mailbox, and on reception parse it and convert it to a post by inserting those values in the relavant db, but u still need to understand who the TO is to get this working, once you figure that, this will be straight forward. chronister
Yes this is entirely possible. Your mail server has POP3 access I assume (Don't know of one that does not off hand). You will need to designate one particular mailbox to this, I looked on google and found several things regarding PHP & POP3 access. http://www.google.com/search?q=php+pop3&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Nate Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/139827-is-this-possible-in-any-way-email-announcement-page/#findComment-731540 Share on other sites
