Im trying to have it so when someone uses the dedicated ip it will go to newdomain.com So if someone gose to http://00.00.00.00 it gose to MySite.com Help i cant get it to work.. anyone have a example? BMurtagh Posted January 16, 2009 Share Posted January 16, 2009 Hello, You will need to use mod_rewrite to do this. Place the following into your .htaccess file. The example I'm including is probably the one you need if your site is using a dedicated IP. I'm also including a second example, that may not function as well as the one above. I believe the second example will end up redirectiing you to the default site that's setup on the shared box. Dedicated IP: rewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^123\.45\.67\.89 rewriterule (.*) http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L] Shared IP: rewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^123\.45\.67\.89 rewriterule ^~example/(.*) http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L] Just reply back if you have any further questions.
