MySQL, PHP, and Form

I have a form that has a short cut to

$query = "delete from ".$table." where id='".$id."";

The form gets records from the database and displays information at the end of each record theres a delete record shortcut. It is suppost to delete that record by the id which is auto incroment, but it doesnt the screen refreshes and record is still in the DB

Any help would be great

$query = "delete from ".$table." where id='".$id."";

This line is probably invalid im guessing.

 

but if you echo out $query, what does it produce?

If you put that in your mysql console/phpmyadmin, does it produce the expected result?
