If I have a string that has one or more values separated by commas:

ex) rock

or

ex) rock,country,folk,blues,jazz,techno,alternative

What would be the quickest way to add single quotes around each item?

ex) 'rock'

or

ex) 'rock','country','folk','blues','jazz','techno','alternative'

Using explode and then implode?  Or is there a quicker way?

Thanks

$string = "rock,country,folk,blues,jazz,techno,alternative";
$string = "'" . str_replace(",","','",$string) . "'";

// or

$string = "rock,country,folk,blues,jazz,techno,alternative";
$string = "'" . implode("','",explode(",",$string)) . "'";

Dunno which one is necessarily faster.  Probably the str_replace.
