i'm making a webpage with a SSI in a php page. The SSI work fine when the path to the included page is a relative path

../menu_include/nav_menu.html

Only when I switch the path to an absolute one, I get a string of errors on the website.

Can you tell me what would be causing this? It is on the Mediatemple server.

I’ve tried this already…. http://kb.mediatemple.net/questions/10/Using+server+side+includes+%28SSI%29

But when I upload the .htaccess file to the server, and I call the url, I get a download prompt, as if it wants me to download the page instead of displaying it.
