[SOLVED] Quick question.

I've been searching for this for a while now and I'm getting nowhere.

Basically what I want to do is add an id tag to a table element so that I can add that element to a variable using document.getElementById('').

So basically I have one page which contains a table and in that table there is a cell which contains some text.

<tr>
<td>Text I want</td>
</tr>

Like so. Is there something I can throw in there to give that specific part of the table an id tag so I can call it to a variable? I think I'm explaining this correctly, but if you don't get what I mean just ask.
