jasonc Posted March 15, 2009 Share Posted March 15, 2009 i wish to reset certain fields only once if the form has not yet been submitted, if the form is submitted and some fields are not filled out then the form is shown again and the fields with data in them have the fields are shown again with the data. but the fields are not reset at all this time. basically i need them reset on load, but not using the <body onload..> i though this would do the trick but does not seem to be working. the following code was placed at the bottom of my page within the <body> tags <script type="text/javascript"><!-- if (document.edit.Submit.value!="SAVE CHANGES") { document.edit.field1.disabled = false; document.edit.field2.disabled = false; document.edit.field3.disabled = true; theForm.field3.value = ""; document.edit.field4.disabled = true; theForm.field4.value = ""; document.edit.field5.disabled = true; theForm.field5.value = ""; } --></script> Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
