2 areas of the string i want to case match on

Im trying to match a title tag but can;t seem to case match just the word title on both sides. i've tried it with / at the beginning and /i at the end which kind of works in that it will match the tag but includes the whole title tag in the variable using preg_match instead of just the title tag text

 

/(<title>(.*)<\/title>)/i

 

This one works but it won;t match case

// get title
$pagetitle = preg_match("(<title>(.*)<\/title>)", $file, $t);
$title = $t[1];

try to print_r($t); and see what's hapend

 

($title = $t[2]

as you said i wasn't printing out the right part of the array! 2 worked!
