Setting up a database I have all the info just need a lil help.

basicall i am being asked for

 

 

Database type: mysql

 

Database server hostname or DSN:

DSN stands for Data Source Name and is relevant only for ODBC installs.

 

Database server port:

Leave this blank unless you know the server operates on a non-standard port.

 

Database name:

 

Database username:

 

Database password:

 

Prefix for tables in database:

 

I have opened up my cpanel an created db (MMMM I THINK I HAVE) all i need is someone to talk me through the details I have and where to put them Thanks alot

Generally you set localhost as the database hostname 99% of the time.

,All you need to provide is the name of the database that you setup in Cpanel. followed by your username and password for MySQL (this maybe the same as your Cpanel Account however check with your host about this).

 

All other fields you can leave blank.
