Tricky wordpress theme ammendment!

Hi

I'm using the grid-a-licious theme for my wordpress blog.

Heres an example of it being used by someone else:

I want to make it so on the main blog page it just has an image and a heading.

And when you click on the heading you go into the post and all of the text is in there.

At present if you post alot of text it appears on the main page.

I want to hide it until you go into the post.

 

In my theme editor i have these files, i can post the code for any of these when needed:

Comments (comments.php)

Footer (footer.php)

Header (header.php)

Main Index Template (index.php)

Page Template (page.php)

Single Post (single.php)

 

Any help would be amazing!!!
