Best way to mass email?

What's the best way to mass email WITHOUT using any other email servers? I'm just wanting to use the default mail server (it has to be done this way).

 

So should I do:

mail('email1, email2, email3',.....);

 

Or in a loop:

foreach ($var as $key){
   mail($key,...);
}

 

Or, if there is another way, let me know!

Before attempting this better check with your web host.

 

If they suddenly see mass emails sent from one of their accounts they may shut you down for one of various reasons (suspected spammer, someone suspected of exploiting a script to send emails etc.)

 

Ask them first their policy (if they have one) may have restrictions on how many emails you can send and may require you to apply to send many.

 

I know some web hosts are very strict and and some don't care as long as they've got your cash.
