I have a rule which works well in the root.

RewriteBase /

RewriteRule pics/(.*.php)$ products.php?product_url=$1
RewriteRule cat/(.*.php)$ products.php?category_url=$1
RewriteRule man/(.*.php)$ products.php?manufacturer_url=$1

The problem is that this rule is also trying to work on a domain that is within a subfolder of the root, which also has pages with /pics/*.php

There is no .htaccess in the subfolder.  Can anyone advise on how to stop the rule working on subfolders, or to create a rule in a .htaccess in the subfolder that will stop the above rule being executed?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
