creating a list of vouchers from a DB

Hi. I am new so sorry if this is a very obvious question or in the wrong place

 

I am creating a web application which will provide a product based on a voucher code which the customer will be sent.

 

There will be more than one product and the vouchers all need to be unique and only used once.

 

Is there a good snippet of code for creating voucher codes of say 16 digits ensuring there are no duplicates and tyhen to associate them with a certain product?

 

what i need in a few steps

 

1. create up to 100k unique voucher codes and ask which product to assign them to.

2. print these voucher codes out based on a template ensuring there are no duplicates of previous print jobs.

3. using an online form recognise these voucher codes and do a specified action as a result of this.

 

If it helps the vouchers will need to print onto cd's so having the option to print one unique voucher code onto each cd would be very good.
