webmaster1
Hi All, I've just installed SMF Forum on a site of mine. It's working fine. Does anyone know how I should go about making the forum section of the site private? I don't want it to be publically accessable i.e. blocked access from all forum pages. Is this something I can configure from withing SMF or can do I need to apply some of my own PHP scripting? webmaster1
I've come across various scripts to password protect a page using sessions. Can this be done to the folder that contains the forum on my directory? The folder in question has 777 permissions. [-_-]
You can make certain forums invisible to the public with smf. You can also give certain members special privellages. Are you planning on making a private torrent site? ??? webmaster1
Nope. Just a reserved area for a few freinds discussing a mutual topic. So from what you're saying I should be configuring the privacy from within SMF? Mchl
You can do this using SMF administrative tools. http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=114 Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/154113-solved-making-a-section-of-site-private-using-php/#findComment-810134 Share on other sites
