Grabbing media with php

I don't know if any one here has ever tried, but i have ASX radio stream with plays via my html embed.... the player can display the artist/song name in the media player this is part of microsofts plugin.

 

This suggests the ASX stream is passing the info of song name/ artist.... right?

 

So i was wondering if any one was aware of php being able to grab such info to echo them in html ? I can't find much info on it which kinda suggests it probably isn't possible but may aswell ask if any one knows!
