NickG21 Posted May 14, 2009 Share Posted May 14, 2009 Hey everyone, I felt like i was pretty proficient with PHP but I haven't been able to get passed this stupid error i am getting and it's killing me. I only have 1 page im initially working on and i can't figure this out; Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/...index.php on line 38 <?php $query = "SELECT * from tblBlog"; $result = mysql_query($query); $numrows = mysql_num_rows($result); Line 38: for ($i= 0; $i < $numrows; $i++){ $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $title = $row['Title']; $link = $row['Link']; $writeup = $row['Writeup']; $comments = $row['Comments']; echo $title . "<br/>"; echo $link . "<br/>"; echo $writeup . "<br/>"; } ?> thank you in advance, nick Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
PFMaBiSmAd Posted May 14, 2009 Share Posted May 14, 2009 The posted code does not produce any syntax error. Either you have some non printing characters as part of that line, the error is caused by something prior to the posted code, or the file or the line number is wrong. Brian W Posted May 14, 2009 Share Posted May 14, 2009 Can you post the code for the entire page? PFMaBiSmAd may be onto something... try pasting the code into a new txt file and then save it over your old php file. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
