Script runs slowly - looking for help/input

Hi,

 

I installed a third-party script for a client, but the script is running very slow. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but it's essentially "scraping" content from another database. I've yet to determine whether it's the script or the website, but I'm figuring it's the script, as other portions of the website run quickly.

 

Here are two links, to the same script, but installed on two different sites (both sites are on the same server).

The script uses Zend. I have attached one of the PHP files which is a main part of the script. There are, however, several files which make up the full script/program.

 

I'm looking for any feedback, help, comments, ideas, as to why it runs slowly and how I might be able to make it run more quickly.
