Hi all,

I am using this script on a lot of sites, but they were all on Linux based servers and worked fine. Now I am trying to use it on a site that is on a windows server and just having all kinds of issues. First I found out that I had to replace the use of getenv with $_SERVER because ASAPI does not recognize it, then a few other things came up and this is where I am at now. When I try to submit the form located at http://www.gfscanada.com/menu_ordering/index.html, I get the following error...

"Message could not be sent due to an error while trying to send the mail.

PHPFormMail has experienced errors that must be fixed by the webmaster. Mail will NOT be sent until these issues are resolved. Once these issues are resolved, you will have to resubmit your form to PHPFormMail for the mail to be sent."

This has to be in the code because I have tried creating basic formmail scripts and they work fine, but need the features this one has. Unfortunately, the developer has not responded to any of my questions. Anyway, here is the code. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Jeff

That error means that the mail() function returned a false value. For debugging to find out why it did that, add the following two lines immediately after your first opening <?php tag -

ini_set("display_errors", "1");
error_reporting(E_ALL);

Thanks first for moving the post. I wasn't sure which one I should put it in. Anyway, I plugged that code in and it gave me 2 errors, one of which repeats itself quite a few times. I am listing them below and the solutions below in case anyone else comes across this issue:

warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address

Found out that windows servers don't allow for complex use of mail(). So instead of having it set like to 'name <test@test.com>' I had to simply set it to 'test@test.com'. One error down.

undefined index errors

I read that these errors might be caused by error reporting setting in the php.ini file on windows servers, which I do not have access to. So I tried setting error_reporting(0) and voila! Script now works on a windows server. Thanks again for the help!
