nrg_alpha
- The layout is foobar'ed in Chrome (works in FF and IE7 though). - Hmmm... I'm not sure about the room concept.. while I can see it's for category purposes, it feels 'disjointed'. One method to consider is doing some kind of collapsible accordion styled panel system.. so the use clicks on the header of choice, and opens that chat while the other closes (or something to that effect). As it stands, having to glance / navigate through a drop down menu doesn't feel right in this situation. When visiting a web page, it's understood that when selecting something from the drop down, it will bring you to a new page.. but here, since you are staying on that same page, more instant overview / navigation would do this system some good IMO. - Lastly, those emoticons are poor in quality. I would look into using some better quality ones (I just grabbed the first Google link I found [the link claims their free.. but who knows] - There are many other sources out there I'm sure, so I didn't bother spending much time searching).
