Very basic help !!

Basically i am trying to learn to write php following a good book i have

I have WAMP installed and all set up, and i am using Dreamweaver CS4 to code my PHP

My problem is everytime i write any sort of code even copying out of the book or another php example i just get crappy errors for instance the following

<p>Hello<p/><br/>

<?php

$name = "Melissa"

$age = 21

?>

 

<p>Hello Again<p/>

<?php

echo $name

echo $age

?>

First time i ran it Dream weaver just gave me parse error on line 13 which i didnt change then i got it to work some how, and now dream weaver is just displaying the HTML but only showing the Php script as little php thumbnails??

Anyone know what i am doing wrong its hard to learn when nothing i write works... Annoying! ???

I don't see any semicolons ; use those to get rid of the errors
