Trouble Activating PHP4 on Apache

Hey guys

I guess this could go under either the Apache or PHP forums, but I think it's probably just about better suited here.

Basically, I'm not very good when it comes to working on the server side. I'm slowly meandering my way towards activating PHP4 for an old application, but I can't overwrite my Apache config file to add the line about loading the relevant module.

I've downloaded TextWrangler and opened the httpd-stf.conf file (not sure if I should be using httpd.conf?). I add the line of code and try to reupload the file but I get a permission denied error.

I've done a bit of research and I think it might be to do with the admin account on my Mac not having root access by default. That I need to run some kind of sudo command? I don't even know where to start with sudo commands!

Can anybody offer some help?

T'would be muchos appreciated!

Thanks
