I had a server that was root hacked so I did a fresh install on a new server with CentOS.  I had a script that was previous working on the "old" server.  Now when I try to run it I get this error...

Fatal error: Class 'PDO' not found

Info from the server...

# php -v

PHP 5.2.8 (cli) (built: Jun 18 2009 20:35:33)

I found this page here...

http://us2.php.net/manual/en/pdo.installation.php

Is it simply a matter of just copy/paste of the lines of code they have written there?  I'm not 100% familiar with this portion.
