shrive22
I am trying to add a record to my employee table but when I test it out by trying to add a record with a duplicate primary key I am getting back my $message = "the employee was successfully added". Here is the relavant code: $result = mysql_query($query, $connection); if (result) { //the update succeded $message = "The Employee was successfully added."; } else { // Update Failed. Display Error Message $message = "The Employee could not be added."; $message .= "<br />" . mysql_error(); } Any ideas why I am getting this weird behavior? thanks Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/163638-solved-mysql_query-result/ Share on other sites
