Data displayed differently in ie than in firefox

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I'm sure someone will tell me if not, so here goes....

 

I've got some data which is called into a table via a query.  This is fine, except that in IE the information wraps around within the cell and doesn't in Firefox.  The firefox way is how I want it to display, but I don't know what's causing it to behave like that in IE.

 

Can anyone help...

white-space:nowrap;
