jeeves245
Hi all, i'm trying to install MySQL 5.1 (using the mysql-essential-5.1.36-win32.msi installer on Windows XP). Every time, I am getting the error "Could not start the service MySQL error:0" and the installer halts. I have spent some time on Google, and it seems to be a common problem but none of the solutions seem to help. I have tried uninstalling everything to do with MySQL on my system, rebooting, but it doesn't help. I have also tried searching this forum, but I couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/165665-solved-could-not-start-the-service-mysql-error0/ Share on other sites
jeeves245
Never mind, solved it. Not sure how, I just rebooted again and it worked. Go figure.
