noob question: inserting slideshow instead a single image

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am fairly new to the world of php. I have been trying to modify a wordpress theme which has got a picture associated with it. I am trying to change that picture to a slideshow using the NextGen gallery plugin.

Attached herewith is the theme code and also the slidshow code.

<?php if ( get_post_meta($post->ID, 'Image', true) ) { ?>

<a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><img src="<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Image", true); ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>" alt="<?php the_title(); ?> <?php _e('thumbnail'); ?>" align="top" border="0" style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;width: 412px; height: 232px;"/></a>

<?php } else { ?>

<a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/images/default.gif" title="<?php the_title(); ?>" alt="<?php the_title(); ?>" align="top" border="0" style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;width: 412px; height: 232px;"/></a>

<?php } ?>

Insted of the default.gif I wish a slideshow to be seen and the code I need to insert is "[slideshow id=1]".

Some of you may even laugh at how simple this may be but I have been having some trouble with it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
