merge two images (one being transparent) and then add username text to image too

I am after a routine that would scale the uploaded images from our members to 200width and then add the transparent logo to the bottom right and the username just below our logo.

 

images uploaded by members could be in many formats.

 

can someone please suggest how i may do this and if already done by someone can they let me know how.

You can't do this in CSS/HTML (or rather you could fake it, but it would be a real hack, and wouldn't be a good idea), it needs to be done on the server using php or some other server-side language. You will want to use the GD library or the Imagemagic library.

I've done this exact thing for a client and Imagemagic works really well.
