Hi. I have a form on my site to add videos as well as transcripts of the videos.Its simply a textarea for the transcript and a text input for the video in which I usually copy and paste a youtube embed link.

 

I also have a similar form which edits an existing entry in the database. For convenience I display the transcript as a value of the textarea so that it can be edited rather than re-entered.

 

I want to do the same thing for video, but the problem i've discovered is that if a i print the embed object straight into the value of the text input, the video is displayed rather than the string value.

 

How do I get around this?
