maat
Hi, I'm new to php, and I heard someone reccomend XAMPP for beginners. It's supposed to install and configure Apache, PHP, Mysql, phpmyadmin, Peal & a basic mailserver for use as a development enviroment. Project Page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/xampp/ <-- I couldn't find much info here, just the basics. So, should go this route or install the different components separately? Has anyone heard of or used XAMPP? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Yours truly, Maat Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/169716-has-anyone-heard-ofused-xampp/ Share on other sites
wildteen88
It is up to you how you setup the AMP stack (Apache, PHP and MySQL). If you want AMP to be setup quickly with worrying about configuration then use XAMPP. However I do recommend you to install Apache, PHP and MySQL separately. maat
Thanks for your reply. I'm trying a stack for now, (WAMP), but already having some complications with it that even the WAMP experts can't seem to figure out. I may very well just go with the individual installations here soon. Have fun!
