It's location detection based on IP addresses is fairly inaccurate even after installing the recommended plugins. Can someone please suggest a free solution with accurate location detection? monkeytooth Posted August 27, 2009 Share Posted August 27, 2009 I can't really think of a free location service to build your own apps with. I think GeoIP may have a Lite Version in sorts. But if your looking purely for statistical reasons why not install Google analytic onto your site. They record everything I can think of, its an extra line or 2 of code, you sign up for the account and they give it to you. Its free, comes with its own dashboard, etc.. I'd even be happy with an application that allows me to copy and paste the IP into it. Does anything with a little more accuracy exist? And freely of course, because allegedly, like the best things in life, I'm cheap.
