THe default one showing is SELECT and I want my form to tell the user if she forgot to make a selection here is my code

if($Class=='SELECT')
{echo'<b>You forgot to enter your Class &nbsp &nbsp Press the Back Button <br/>';$dataOK = FALSE;}

the selection inserts into my DB but if the user leaves the option at SELECT inside my database I see SELECT

I want to make sure that the user selects an option (Freshman, Sophomore, Junrior- Senior) "SELECT" Is just considered a placeholder to me. So the parser needs to tell the user to select an option if it reads that word. How do I write the code for this?
