Introducing reCaptcha onto existing PHP pages

Hi all,

 

I'm new to PHP and I'm trying to help a client add reCaptcha to her website.  Her site includes an e-learning course, and it requires users to set up an account first.  Well, the captcha was never set up in the first place and she's received over 2000 spam accounts.  So, I'm trying to introduce a captcha element to her signup page. 

 

There are two pages associated with this form, one is called 'signup.php' and the other is called 'signup_form.php'.  It appears as though the 'signup_form' page is the actual form and that the 'signup' page is the process page.  However, when I entered the necessary coding to each page as described by captcha, I only receive the error message (words didn't match the captcha, please try again) when trying to view the signup page in my browser.  So, I need some assistance with this if anyone is willing and able to help.  If so, I'll post the coding so you can take a look.
