magnetica
$qrydate = mysql_query("INSERT INTO table (date) VALUES ('2009-05-06 23:55:15')) WHERE id = $id"); date is set to a timestamp in mySQL. The date isn't important as its random anyway. But this does nothing to the database at all. Am I using the timestamp wrongly? Giri J
Hi I usually update the date using now() function like this $qrydate = mysql_query("INSERT INTO table (date) VALUES (now()) WHERE id = $id"); now() is a mysql function. when u execute the query it will automatically updates the date and time. By the way can we use a where clause in insert ?? Please lemme know. thanks Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/174918-not-updating-in-datbase-timestamp/#findComment-921828 Share on other sites

Calver
Hello, I'm new to this and haven't got around to timestamps yet, but there appears to be an extra ')' in the original query?
