Not updating in datbase (timestamp)

Recommended Posts

$qrydate = mysql_query("INSERT INTO table (date) VALUES ('2009-05-06 23:55:15')) WHERE id = $id");

date is set to a timestamp in mySQL. The date isn't important as its random anyway.

But this does nothing to the database at all.

Am I using the timestamp wrongly?

Thanks

Hi

I usually update the date using now() function like this

$qrydate = mysql_query("INSERT INTO table (date) VALUES (now()) WHERE id = $id");

now() is a mysql function. when u execute the query it will automatically updates the date and time.

By the way can we use a where clause in insert ?? Please lemme know.

thanks
