JonathanBurns
I am having a little problem with a video code that I recently installed on my forum. I used the code from http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=695525 and had someone edit it so it would link my videos from the storage site I use called sermonconnect. However the videos do not show up right. I checked with the guys at the seromonconnect tech help and they say that everything on there end is correct. The videos play right when enbeded on other sites (not forum sites). You can view my problem here: http://www.spartabiblestudy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1 As you can see the videos do not look good on the phpbb site but youtube videos look fine. What would be a good way to tackle this problem.

redarrow
are you trying to get the url in the search engine quicker? is this spam. the below link show video's correctly..... http://www.spartabiblestudy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1 what you mean don't look good change the definition off the guilty of the videos then... there are special links that play high guilty videos from youtube but you got to have all the latest computer updates top see the video so sharp, and unfortunately we don't own the pc people use. the best player is a .flv enrobed player (HINT
JonathanBurns
None of it is spam. Look at the videos. Play one of the ones that is not in the youtube format and look how bad the player looks. They say it shouldnt look like this and its something within the phpBB area. redarrow
You got to research, what players play best. with applications. you must test all applications embed into your design not stop at one only three thousands.. any web site is able to have youtube ended but what player is used is programmers preference. but remember if the clients computer has no updates or up to date browser they wont see the video in general. anything that is classed as having most web sites provide a link to download video content. JonathanBurns
The sermon connect player is what my hosting uses which is a company called faithhighways. I have no control over the player.
redarrow
a embedded player is embedded into a project and any body with a host can alter there current projects and add a player of any type..... there not such thing as a company not allowing choice (( well never seen it.... if you fill forced in using the crap there supplying, move on to a new host... there a list off host on this forum don't no where but there here all suggested as good for php and mysql..... JonathanBurns
So far I have not see a computer that does not see this player. So tell me why the video looks so bad when posted in the forum vs not on the forum? Link: https://www.sermonconnect.com/mediapreview.php?id=20090928010936F762E7 Let me add this. The videos are not coming for the site that my phpBB forum is on. I am trying to link them over so I do not have to re add them to another site
JonathanBurns
I use siteground.com for my phpbb site and i am using the company called faithhighways who designed and got the main church site going. Sermonconnect is where I manage all my media.

JonathanBurns
When you go to the forum and see the post with the three videos in it which i have made a link to in this thread. The first video is a video from youtube. As you see the youtube player looks good. The video also looks ok. The second video and third is from my church site. (www.westspartacoc.com) The videos player and videos looks pixilated when they are posted on the forum. (however do not look this way when not in the forum. Like when they are posted at westspartacoc.com).
redarrow
that because you got the playing video to large........ agree the pixels look funky in that example on the forum, but that because off the resolution off the video when recorded i guess... the only way to correct this problem is to make the showing video smaller... try and see.... are you the designer or the church vic or both.... JonathanBurns
I am running the video at the normal standard for web videos. I have been told that was 320x240 with a frame rate of 15 and a bitrate of 200kbps. Audio in the video also conforms. These videos are recorded at high resolution. When brought over to the pc my 10 min video can be upward to 8-10 gig. I am not the designer of the web site. I am the one who does all the video projects and edits the information on the site (westspartacoc.com). I am also the one who created the phpBB forum wihch I am having this problem with. So here is the real question: Why are the videos great on westspartacoc.com and they are not even good on the phpbb forum?
JonathanBurns
Problem solved. Thanks Redarrow for your help. Here was the problem. The mod was making the video player to big. When my sermonconnect link was added to the mod the guy who did it made the video size the same as the youtube one which was 425x344. However it needed to be 320x240. Now it looks great. //http://www.sermonconnect.com/media/images/Image/video_player_clear.swf?videopath=100000/10000/8000/402/20090520020547C2C471 array('/sermonconnect\.com.*videopath=([^&]*)/i', '<object width="320" height="240"><param name="movie" value="http://www.sermonconnect.com/media/images/Image/video_player_clear.swf?videopath={ID_VIDEO}"></param><embed src="http://www.sermonconnect.com/media/images/Image/video_player_clear.swf?videopath={ID_VIDEO}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="320" height="240"></embed></object>'),
