mechedd
Hello, I am using the script found on the web to try to upload files to a directory in my website but when I choose the file and click submit a window pops up asking me if I want to open the file or save it somewhere on my computer. Why is it doing this and how can I make the file save to a directory on my website? Here is the script I am using, as it is found on the web... The HTML Form: <html> <body> <form action="upload_file.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <label for="file">Filename:</label> <input type="file" name="file" id="file" /> <br /><br /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> </body> </html> And the PHP Script: <?php { if ($_FILES["file"]["error"] > 0) { echo "Return Code: " . $_FILES["file"]["error"] . "<br />"; } else { echo "Upload: " . $_FILES["file"]["name"] . "<br />"; echo "Type: " . $_FILES["file"]["type"] . "<br />"; echo "Size: " . ($_FILES["file"]["size"] / 1024) . " Kb<br />"; echo "Temp file: " . $_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"] . "<br />"; if (file_exists("upload/" . $_FILES["file"]["name"])) { echo $_FILES["file"]["name"] . " already exists. "; } else { move_uploaded_file($_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"], "upload/" . $_FILES["file"]["name"]); echo "Stored in: " . "upload/" . $_FILES["file"]["name"]; } } } else { echo "Invalid file"; } ?> -mechedd Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/177829-file-upload-problem/ Share on other sites
